1It does not read the disk  Dec 17, 2008 By Delaney
I purchased this external drive for my netbook. My netbook recognizes the drive. However, no matter what CDROM I put in this reader the drive never reads the disk, and the computer keeps prompting me to put a disk in the D drive.

The external drive feels average enough, not too chintzy, not real top quality. The directions that are included are subpar and brief, which is okay if everything works fine, but when you have trouble with the drive there is no assistance in the directions.

It's possible mine was damaged, I did notice that there was an abnormal amount of lint in the center of the drive where you place the disk.

53 Disc drives  Apr 08, 2010 By Rick Curtis
I write songs from music loops and normally you are confined to two CD loop discs at a time in two CD/RW's, but this little gem allows you to use three CD loop discs at once multiplying the music loop combinations you can use and thus the variety of music. Super!

2Flaky and erratic.  Aug 26, 2009 By Nick Ballard
This drive works when it wants to. Lots of unplugging and re-adjusting required to read from the disk correctly. Very annoying to deal with.

5Just what the Dr. ordered!  Apr 29, 2009 By Larry J. Gallant
I have been using this drive with my netbook (linux OS) and works perfectly! Since I use my netbook while traveling, I do not always require CDs to go with me. Anything I will need is already on my SD card. The lack of a CD drive allows most netbooks to be small and efficient.
