Loud but good ports Oct 28, 2010

This item was a buy for summer school, while out classroom had the AC repaired. It works great, puts out a lot of air, but it also puts out a lot of noise. The fan blades whir rather louder than I would have expected and the metal cage rattles rather distressingly. The ports work great though, and I still use it when not in class.

This is built from flimsy metal and thin plastic. It pushes a tiny bit of air.
It is a nice concept, but there are way better usb fans out on the market.
Noisy Desktop Fan - USB Hubs Non-functioning May 04, 2010
By S. Ferrin Well, it does fan air in my general direction, so it's got that going for it. Unfortunately that's all it has going for it. Here's a list of opportunities to improve upon for the makers of this product.
1) It only has one setting - High. It would be great if it had a medium and low setting, or at the very least a low setting.
2) It tends to have a loud hum. That's because the fan blades are spinning very, very fast (Thanks to the High only setting). It's not deafing loud, but I have it set up at my desk at work, and being that it is typically quiet around my area, when it's on, you'll notice. If you are use to blocking out the sound of yours or other's kids, then the sound of this fan won't bother you in the slightest.
3) The three USB ports don't work. Which is too bad, because I bought this one over the other fans that were around the same price because of the 3 ports.
