5good upgrade to standard battery  Dec 12, 2009 By R. J. Greene
Was a bit reluctant to buy a non-branded battery with no reviews, but have been using this for a week now and am very impressed, having given it three full charge-discharge cycles. It is a slightly tighter fit than the original battery, but this makes it fit solidly and there is no motion once the thing is locked in place. Several things:

- mine came 52 percent charged and charged up fully without problems (they include a sheet of paper which explains that you might have to charge several times and unplug/replug the battery to get the pc to charge it completely, but I didn't need to do that).
- it's big, but I was expecting that since it is nine cells against the original's three cells. If you compare it to the original three cell battery it looks the same when you are typing, but there is quite a lot hanging out at the back and below. On a flat surface this props up the keyboard at a nice angle, but it's not quite so comfy on your legs since the big battery is lower than the rest of the laptop.
- run time with both XP and ubuntu is very impressive, both report about 9hrs and I get actual working times over 8hrs. Since I have the pc setup to go to sleep when idle this means that I am only charging every 2 days (!) and this with full screen brightness when it is awake, and wifi connected. Very nice!

Also they shipped the battery with a free little USB SD card reader - this is shown in the photo but as of December 2009 is not mentioned in the text. Works fine with a 4 GB class 6 SD card.

1Lasted 9 months, now it's dead.  Sep 11, 2010 By FJ
I took good care of this battery. Plugged the laptop in each night, made sure we weren't leaving it on the charger for only a few minutes and then unplugging it, etc. After less than nine months of use, this battery is completely useless. Doesn't hold a charge - consistently, the OS says the battery is at 0% even while plugged in. So I am back to the battery my Acer came with, and it's working ok, but I guess I'll have to go to Acer rather than this copycat brand...too bad, because it really made a big difference in our ability to use the netbook around the house without worrying about being near an outlet; the 3 -cell standard battery is nowhere near as convenient.

5Good Battery  Oct 29, 2010 By KRIS CARRARA
This battery gives me at least 20% more time than my old battery. Time will tell how long it will last. So far, so good. It is hard to go very wrong for less than $60. If your computer is in good condition, and all you need is a battery, then you won't be disappointed with this product. I don't see much use for the free gift that came along with it, so don't let the freebee influence your decision. Good luck.

5Completely satisfied (so far)  May 30, 2010 By umv
I ordered this for a ZA3 and it arrived within about a week. Out of the box Windows 7 reported 78% charge. I've drained and recharged it several times, and also unplugged it and re-plugged it (swapping for the original 3-cell). It works fine, and gets a good solid 8+ hours whether I'm watching video or surfing the net with the built-in wifi card. Using my USB Alfa high-power card it only goes 5-6 hours, which is still a lot.

This battery does take a LONG time to recharge to 100% after a full drain - 4-5 hours to reach full charge. That's to be expected though, and the best plan is to leave it charging overnight to insure a full top-off.

Fit and finish are excellent. The texture on the plastic is an exact match for the bottom of the ZA3 and the battery does not stick up any higher under the screen than the factory 3-cell. It does not interfere with the screen at all. It has two rubber feet on the bottom, one of which has already fallen off and gotten lost somewhere. It's heavy, but not that bad. It does make a nice secure place to grip the netbook (I used worry about dropping mine, but not with this battery). The battery lifts up the rear of the ZA3 which is great for extra airflow, but I don't like a keyboard that is lifted in back (the higher the angle, the quicker I start feeling carpal tunnelish). Still, it's not lifted very much so the angle is tolerable. The battery projects down about 3/4" and about the same out the back.

Only time will tell how long the battery will continue to hold 8 hours of charge. I will probably order a second one of these batteries - I love it.

The "free gift" of a USB multi-card reader is a bit silly...the ZA3 already has a multi-card reader built-in...what do I need another one for?

I'm very happy with the product (so far) and it arrived quickly. I haven't had to deal with the company (no problems) so I can't comment on them.

EDIT: Well, it's been over 90 days so I'll post an update. I run my ZA3 on battery during the day, and recharge it at night, so I would guess that this battery has been through 80 or more full discharge/recharge cycles - and it's still going strong. Actually Win7 now reports a full charge as 10.5 hours remaining (in max powersave mode), which is better than what it was new. I'm not sure if the battery is actually running the netbook longer, since I haven't timed it, but I know for sure the runtime certainly hasn't gone down any.

Still loving it.

EDIT: Over 6 months now and still going strong. It has loosened up a bit - i.e., it doesn't fit as tight as it did, there is a little bit of play now. When new it was a really tight fit, but now you can rattle it a bit. Other than that, it still works fine.

5Acer AspireOne Netbook Battery  Mar 31, 2010 By Matthew Shea "peacefultimesbooks"
After receiving this Acer AspireOne 9 Cell battery for my ZA3 Netbook, I spent a few days running the charge down and recharging for optimal battery performance. Opened the box and immediately attached to my Netbook and it had an 84% charge- not bad. I now get 6-7 hours on a full charge with WiFi on, multiple programs running, etc. and this battery is fantastic. Don't pay more through the manufacturer, get it her for half the price. Worth the purchase- HANDS DOWN! Now the old 3 cell battery that came with my Netbook will be for back-up only. You WILL NOT regret your small investment- buy one now.
