Asus EEE900 16 Gig SSD Dec 13, 2010
By MacBob I like this model Asus EEE because it has 1GB of memory vs some other Asus EEE900 models with only 512 MB and it has the 16 GB SSD storage vs others with only 4-8 GB. That being said, this netbook boots up quickly to the Desktop but hesitates slightly after that before you can go to the Internet. Once you get to the Web Sites, it moves along well. Pros: Small enough to easily take with you while traveling or going to WIFI hot spots, attractive glossy finish, keyboard works well even with larger fingers, Asus extra 20 GB storage online, 1.3 MB camera built in. Cons: Asus net books have a reputation of getting hot along with the chargers burning out due to overheating as well, limited storage of the SSD although 16 GB is adequate, runs slower than some competitors with a 1.6 GB processor. Overall: For $200 or less, a good buy. *If buying any Asus EEE 900 series with Win XP, be sure it has a minimum of 1GB of memory and no less than a 16 GB SSD. Otherwise, will run too slow to operate Windows XP efficiently along with trying to surf the Web. To avoid overheating, charge the battery "after" turning off the net book. If you are looking at Asus EEE 900 series net books costing $225 or more, recommend buy a Lenovo S-10 10.2" screen. I own both the Asus EEE900 and a Lenovo S-10 and the Lenovo is faster and operates much cooler.

a handy rugged machine Jun 20, 2010

This netbook is perfect for travel, browsing and social networking. Its light weight and very rugged. Love the solid state memory, no hard disks to worry about. I use it regularly on travel, have dropped in so many times but still works like a charm. Very good utility and value for money.

Little in size, but little in performance. Dec 12, 2009
By RG I absolutely love the portability of the netbook. I can carry it in my purse! However, once I get to Starbucks and sit down to do something as simple as go on facebook, if I open more than one window it will take forever to load. Sometimes there are messages about the virtual memory that cause internet explorer to shut down. I wish this product had more power and capability when it comes to browsing the web, considering that's what netbooks are made for..
