This to me is the best value for money laptop in the $500 range. Only had it for 2 weeks now and still no problems but will update if there is any. I do wish i could have gone with a smaller laptop but they just don't have the full package i want so had to settle for this acer.
Not to shabby at all.

it has dolby optimized surround-sound with virtual surround sound and all that mumbo jumbo wich is where i decided to substract a star cause it just sounds like a marketing gimmick for a laptop to me. have not been able to test it with good speakers plugged in so maybe it does work and maybe works nice but with the laptop speakers i can't hear the difference. it actually sounds worse with all the extra functions turned on so i don't know.
the ati radeon hd 4200 does hdmi movies in 1080p very nicely. everything else is more than enough for anything but video encoding and heavy gaming.
it's actually pretty potant for the price this thing. not as heavy as the other laptops with same specs and price i looked at. actually a pound less. i did alot of searching but this was the best combination for $500 i could find in a laptop.
This is a very nice laptop and i'm very happy with it so far.

This is an amazing product for its price. The Turion is equal to a Intel Core2Duo, and the dedicated graphics card in it, makes games and Hi-def video a pleasure. Great buy1

The model AS4540-5424 exactly (other AS4540 models can be) dont have high quality webcam, only work in regular mode. Acer says some cameras of AS4540 family works on HD 720p.
This model dont have Bluetooth, but the HDMI out feature is great, the AMD 64 chip is fast.
The ethernet jack and power in are very close.
The wireless antenna range is some low than other Acer machines.
