Great little machine. Jul 30, 2010 This is the second Acer netbook I have purchased. I love it! It's perfect for surfing the internet, FaceBook or email. The battery life is good on it and the wide screen works well for my usage. Would recommend it for anyone looking for a compact, easy way to use a PC.
Good Jul 29, 2010 I had my Aspire one for 4 years now and it works great. I have no clue on how long the battery life really lasts but it has yet to die on me. Besides from Viruses, the only problem I ever had was when the Ram cards came loose but after taking out the cards and switching the ports it worked well. It is good to just to watch movies and stream stuff. It doesn't really get hot, the cooling fan is still quiet, the ports work well (although VGA to TV doesn't look good). It is perfect for College, picks up and holds on to wifi easily.
I wouldn't recommend buying it now in 2010 for it's not in HD which is highly noticeable when you own an iPad or iPhone 4. It's not accepting the Windows 7 build nor the new versions of Office. iTunes takes a while to open (6-8 mins), McAfee is crap and uses insane amount of CPU when you start your pc or come out of standby mode. Divx is really slow to open but plays nicely, Divx updates uses 69% of the cpu. Acer cams (in general) suck, the iPhone cam has better Pixels.
*If you have an iPad or iPhone it is really fun to remote into this PC.

I found the only good one out there! Jul 16, 2010 From reading all these bad reviews it seems that Acer made "one" good mini and I happened upon it. I love this little computer. It boots right up when I turn it on, it's fast, never slow, it's very light weight is why I actually got it to carry in my purse so I can still have access to my e-mails, internet, etc. when not at home (I am not into those expensive cell phone plans to get the same...lol.). It's great when you have that long wait for a doctors appointment or waiting while picking your kids up from school or practice, anywhere when you know you have to wait, or when traveling. I also have the Acer 15.6 inch laptop as well that I have never had a problem with. I say try it and use it frequently when you first bring it home so you have time to return it if you experience problems like others did on here.

Cheap AC Adaptor Jul 09, 2010 I bought an Aspire one three months ago from Amazon. One day I was pulling the AC adaptor out of the backpack and the cable just came off the adaptor. I mean the bare wire just came loose. It was not secured well and the bare wire came off completely and I did not even pull hard. So I contacted Acer for warranty, guess what they said? It's a "usage issue" so they will not replace it. I have used laptops for decades and I have never once seen a bare wire came off the adaptor - that's bad workmanship, and even worse, they don't want to cover it, despite my complaint! Netbook is inexpensive so it's not even worth it to buy the adaptor anymore. The Netbook is going into trash. Don't buy Acer! Or you have to cross your finger nothing goes wrong. They will not honor their warranty.

hard drive, fan, AND motherboard went within 7 months! Jun 23, 2010 This is the worst computer I have ever owned. The hard drive, fan, AND motherboard went within 7 months of my purchasing it. I sent it back to Acer (at my expense) they "fixed it" and sent it back several weeks later. It worked for literally 15 minutes and then crashed again- wouldn't even turn on. It was finally fixed after the second trip back to Acer- but now for some reason the touchpad- which was always really bad- is even worse than ever. It skips, sticks, won't scroll properly, and makes the text suddenly larger or smaller for no reason. If the cursor is accidentally moved too slowly over an add or link it automatically goes there without even clicking the touchpad! Do not buy this computer- the only thing good about it is it's small portable size. It is obviously cheap for a very good reason. Save yourself a giant headache and spend a little more money to get a better computer.
