5Best Notebook(Netbook?) for the money ~  Dec 27, 2009 By Jackson
Pros :
- It looks nice.
- Has plenty of space and Ram (250gb and 4gb)
- Has 64-bit Windows pre-installed.
- Not "too much" bloated ware.
- The web cam is pretty good.(for web cam)
- Pretty light weight.
- Screen is pretty good for this size.
- the On-board 3200 is enough for all day-to-day work and a lot of games.

Cons :
- Could use a little more ram (Max is 4GB, prefer 8gb max)
- HDD could be a little faster, 5400 rpm is a bit slow for me, AS my desktop is Dual Raptor soon going to SSD.
- CPU can be a little faster, heat concerns maybe?
- The Keyboard needs a little time to get used to.
- There is no way this thing can get 5 Hours of battery life with the pre-installed Windows setup and stock battery. I would say 3 something Hours, MAX. I will try to do a clean install when I have the time. Then I will post an update here.

My last Ferrari was the 4000, got this Ferrari One for over a week. I would say it worth every penny. I carry it in my bag right now and after a day of running around my shoulder is still ok ! (the old one, which is a full feature notebook, well, it served me well for like 3+ years. kinda heavy)

They should've kept the shell like the old one, meaning they should kept it the Carbon Fibre look. Red is ok but ... I dont know. I might need some time to get used to.

Oh by the way, Just get the Acer's extended warranty. You might think its not worth it, but trust me, ACER's warranty is actually pretty good. When you have a problem, just give them a call, give them your number, everything setup. you get your laptop back in about a week or so. Aftermarket warranty like Square-----, I have them, but I read reviews that if for some reason they cant find a contractor to fix your item, or when they just can't fix it. They will just "refund" you the total amount of the warranty. I mean thats ok, but I would rather pay about 20 bux more and Get Acer's own extended warranty instead.

Anyway, for 600 bux. I will get this over any other notebook in the price range.

5The Ferrari of netbooks  Jan 22, 2010 By Leland H. Miller
I did more than my fair share of research before I chose this netbook. I have a great 17" Toshiba laptop, but it's about as heavy as a box of rocks, and I wanted something that was as powerfull but light in weight. This Acer is all that, and more. The screen resolution (HD) is great, battery life is equal to or better than claimed (5 hrs), processing speed is so much better than an Atom based unit. It's a full featured laptop in a more portable package. As an added bonus, it's the only Ferrari I'll be able to afford. My hobby is sports car racing (SCCA) and this Ferrari is a big hit. I'd recommend this netbook W/O reservation. As always, the buying experience from Amazon is 1st rate. I ordered on the Sunday before Christmas, and it was @ my door on Tuesday... as promised.

5High performance in a small package. Just perfect!  Dec 25, 2009 By S. Chable
I received my F1 a little over a week ago, and have decided to get rid of my MacBook. This little red beauty packs a heck of a punch. The graphics can even handle most of my games without issue.
It gets noticed everywhere, and the Ferrari emblem on the cover is an actual 3D emblem (not a sticker). The quality and attention to detail is very well thought out, and for $600 you really will be overwhelmed.

5Better than expected  Apr 14, 2010 By B. Gallagher "TalkGeek"
My company supplies me a HP 8510W, which can't really be called a laptop, it's more closer to vacuum cleaner set on blow (yes the fan on the side is that bad, but it does keep my coffee hot!) - & just as portable / useful when on battery, and when plugged into the wall I'm sure the lights dim (...ok just slightly).
and guess what.. I travel a lot, so I decided I needed a netbook (It needed to be cheap because I was paying for it) but actually useful not some low power consumption 1.6Ghz ATOM (or worse) and that you didn't need to be an Olympic weight lifter to lug around (i'm a Geek after all), and it could actually last on the road at least for a reasonable part of the day, as well as in the office with a large HD LCD screen on high res. (most netbooks the graphics card lets them down in this area)
The Acer Ferrari One meets those needs and then some - I'm really happy with it!
Video / Graphics meets the requirements (and yes it can actually run BF2, at least well enough for when you need to frag something sitting in a hotel room), I installed Win7 Ultimate x64 and it hasn't missed a beat - in the office I typically have Outlook 2007, Word / Excel and probably 6 or 7 browser sessions open plus Office Communicator, TweetDeck and VISIO or Groove and I can still do full video conferencing without any performance hit.
Out of the office it's typically lasting me a solid 4 plus hours before I start to have to watch the power meter (it waits until it gets to 10% before starting the warning prompts).
Only thing I'm not impressed with is the colour (Ferrari RED) - hate it! why can't this spec come in other colours? - however to be fair my wife and daughters love the Red (also another reason I wish it came in another colour)..
For $599 USD it was a no brainer, and since I bought mine 3 others in the office have too.

5I am in LOVE...with this lap top  Jan 27, 2010 By C. Abram "Amazon is my comfort food"
I actually got mine from Frys, I was planning on purchasing the 10.1 Toshiba. Due in part to a rude sales rep and an extremely polite sales rep(now that I think about it they might have been playing good rep/bad rep) Anyhoo long story short I ended with my baby. My Acer Ferrari exceeded my expectations. I have been making movies, writing papers, madly surfing the net and buying all the accessories that make my baby even better(red of course) This is by far the best lap top I have ever had. If it could love me back I would divorce my husband. Two little issues are the fairly loud click on the space bar and low volume speakers. When you buy it I suggest getting your external drive, headphones and memory foam carrying case(protect your baby) if you can at the same time. Oh yes and have fun!
