Crashed in less than two weeks Jun 12, 2010 Years ago Acer had a terrible reputation and that has stuck with me. But after reading the reviews for the Ferrari FO200 here on Amazon I decided to take a chance.
I was very encouraged when I received it - nice looking. After spending hours loading my software and transferring my files it locked up on the first road trip. Multiple disk errors, wouldn't boot. There I sit with clients unable to access their data.
Options are to return it to Acer with all my personal data on the hard drive or buy a rescue disk and replacement hard drive and start over spending another two days getting everything loaded. At this point I'll probably trash it. My time is too valuable and I'm sick and tired of products that don't work.
I was also very disappointed in the battery life and how hot it runs. If you go with this model create the rescue disk immediately. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. Acer's reputation is still poor in my experience.
UPDATE ONE MONTH LATER
I ordered the restore disks from Acer and they showed up in a couple of days. I bought a new hard drive from Amazon and restored the system to new. Everything seems to work fine. BUT the system is frustratingly slow. CPU cycles are reading 5% and it still takes a full minute for Excel to load! I thought my Toshiba netbook was slow but this is a joke for a dual core 64-bit computer with 4 GB of RAM.

Laptop for gearheads!! May 11, 2010 I just got this bad boy and it is exactly as described. Do you own research (google/youtube) and find out what other people are saying. I chose this over the MacBook Pro for price, performance, and Ferrari-theme design. If you are a car enthusiast, this is a great addition to your memorabilia.
Don't let the Netbook name fool you. This is a fast and portable NOTEBOOK. With a dual-core processor on tap and pretty awesome graphic card, gaming/HD streaming not going to be an issue. Build quality is top notch and the red color is rich and metallic (like the hood of a Ferrari).
Once XGP adapters are released, you could hook this up to multiple HDMI monitors.
Cons:
No Bluetooth connectivity and no HDMI port (Acer should have included these features consider the expensive price)
No backlit keyboard (nice to have but would probably increase the price)
Ferrari one 200, blazing fast compared to 10.1 netbooks May 07, 2010 Before i purchase my netbook, i somewhat google FOR A WEEK on what other best 11.6 netbook around for me to compare...It narrowed down only to 2,the ferrari and the acer 1810tz, i like the specs of acer 1810tz w/c is the best battery (8hrs)with hdmi and 350gb hd space....
But i ended up with my FERRARI one 200, because primarily of the UNIQUE design (i love it)...
"I know i wont be able to afford a ferrari CAR but atleast i have a FERRARI NETBOOK"...hehehe
iam using it for a week now and i have no problem....
pro:
Fast like a FERRARI
average battery life (4 hrs surfing the net)
light weight
Spectacular , detailed design
Cons:
touchpad is sensitive, arrow sometimes goes wacko (ill get use to it bec im not using netbook)
i wish they use norton ghost image not acer e-recovery
cool piece of equipment May 03, 2010 Very fast, sleek machine. Rather pricey, but worth it for the speed. So far has worked perfectly. Will revise review if that changes.

Better than expected Apr 14, 2010 My company supplies me a HP 8510W, which can't really be called a laptop, it's more closer to vacuum cleaner set on blow (yes the fan on the side is that bad, but it does keep my coffee hot!) - & just as portable / useful when on battery, and when plugged into the wall I'm sure the lights dim (...ok just slightly).
and guess what.. I travel a lot, so I decided I needed a netbook (It needed to be cheap because I was paying for it) but actually useful not some low power consumption 1.6Ghz ATOM (or worse) and that you didn't need to be an Olympic weight lifter to lug around (i'm a Geek after all), and it could actually last on the road at least for a reasonable part of the day, as well as in the office with a large HD LCD screen on high res. (most netbooks the graphics card lets them down in this area)
The Acer Ferrari One meets those needs and then some - I'm really happy with it!
Video / Graphics meets the requirements (and yes it can actually run BF2, at least well enough for when you need to frag something sitting in a hotel room), I installed Win7 Ultimate x64 and it hasn't missed a beat - in the office I typically have Outlook 2007, Word / Excel and probably 6 or 7 browser sessions open plus Office Communicator, TweetDeck and VISIO or Groove and I can still do full video conferencing without any performance hit.
Out of the office it's typically lasting me a solid 4 plus hours before I start to have to watch the power meter (it waits until it gets to 10% before starting the warning prompts).
Only thing I'm not impressed with is the colour (Ferrari RED) - hate it! why can't this spec come in other colours? - however to be fair my wife and daughters love the Red (also another reason I wish it came in another colour)..
For $599 USD it was a no brainer, and since I bought mine 3 others in the office have too.
