I Took a Risk on This, and I'm Sorry I Did Sep 20, 2008 I've been using this disk drive with my Dell computer for over six months now. It has worked intermittently. I don't know whether it's software, hardware, installation, or what, but I can't really count on making copies from the internal drive to this drive or vice versa. I can usually (but not always) count on the computer reading this drive. I am reasonably tech savvy and was surprised at this. It seems like a well-made unit, and has very nice action when it opens and closes. But I don't think I have a piece of hardware that has malfunctioned more frequently. Two stars may be generous, but I wanted to like this unit.
