Does not work on Mac - a ripoff Jan 03, 2010
By mosaic646 Bought it not from Amazon but from a big box store here in our locale. Chose it from arrays of lightscribe rewriters because it was the only one that says on the OS section for system requirements that it works on Mac 10.4.10 or higher. There is a big circle by the way on the box that says it *is* Mac compatible. I tried installing it but nothing was happening. I called LG tech support; the IT guy said that it does not work on Mac per their manual (the manual by the way is embedded on the disc and you have to install it to "find" it). I read to him verbatim the part re the OS. Only to be told that it is not a guarantee that it would work. Huh?! But..but...that was the reason why we bought it! What a deception! A total ripoff.
Life is good but LG sucks!
PS. If there is a zero star..I would have selected it for this review.

Check Your Amazon Delivery - CHEAPER Model Sent. NOT MAC FRIENDLY Feb 18, 2010
By NYC FILMMAKER I also bought this drive because it specifically says "MAC COMPATIBLE" on the box. Actually I ordered a better LG Lightscribe dvd drive and they sent this instead from Amazon, without telling me. As this also had the same Mac Compatible label on the front, I didn't notice that the model was different. After days of problems and searching on the internet I found that the drive in the box was not the same on that was labeled on the bottom of the drive. But, now, after owning this piece of junk (LG GE20Lu10), I called and am returning it and NOT ordering the other LG either. It is too exhausting. Decided to spend twice the money and get the Lacie D2. I am using their software that they create for Lightscribe and their website is much, much, much, much better than LG's. And LG, even if they say Mac is compatible, doesn't even include a driver. It is very insulting to find everything on the cd is only for Windows. If you want to work with MAC stay away from this drive or any LG's. And if your PC - well, good luck. I have a feeling you get what you pay for.

Great product - Compatible with Macbook Pro Sep 28, 2011
