4Lenovo S10-2 Netbook  Dec 29, 2009 By J. Chan
I just got one for my wife recently and it works greats (besides the XP home edition preloaded in the netbook). I've tested both my wireless N1 and wireless G routers and the netbook got excellent signal and connections to the internet. I saw there are a few reviews indicating the netbook is unable to connect. This may not be related to the netbook itself. It can be the router itself or the interferences in the house itself. Try to switch different wireless channel or get a signal booster (extended antenna) for the router will help. Be aware the netbook itself is mainly used for light browsing and the atom processor is definitely does not have sufficient power to process HD video steams or heavy-loaded java applications. So far I'm happy with the battery life and the light-weighted of the netbook itself and most importantly you will not feel the heat from the bottom of the netbook. The camera resolution is a bit low as well as the response. This could be a CMOS camera instead of the CCD.
So far I think the netbook delivers most of the features that a netbook should have.

5Everything I'd Hoped For In A Netbook  Mar 27, 2010 By Netizen
This is a review of a Lenovo S10-2, White, 6-Cell Battery.

I bought this one primarily because I wanted the white keyboard. This one is superb, with good contrast between white keys and black and red markings.

But it also met all my other requirements (in no order!) ...

-- Excellent keyboard layout (some others are really bad, so be sure to check that out before you buy any laptop or netbook). Keys are solid and responsive. I would have liked island/chiclet keys, but for this type they have good definition, rounded at the edges, so no problem knowing where you are.

-- I love that the battery elevates the back .. this gives more airflow underneath, and makes typing more comfortable. Some in comments don't like the way it looks, but I think the pros totally outweigh the cons. It's also good for holding while carrying. Also, the batter snaps in and out very easily.

-- The ports are laid out well and easily accessed, usb, a/c and sd card.

-- Very solid build, all aspects, even the power cord (which is white, too, btw).

-- Lenovo tech service is available 24/7 and is excellent.

-- The display is LED backlit, so is much easier on the eyes.

-- Easy keyboard access to controls, such as brightness, sound volume.

-- Battery lasts and lasts and lasts. It's really amazing. Standby to wake is fast, and standby consumes very little power.

-- Zero problem with fingerprints on cover. Can't even make one!

-- Only negative is speaker, which in mine at least is not very loud even on highest volume, but it's adequate. Quality is netbook.

-- Touchpad is excellent (good tracking, scroll, and solid r/l keys), tho I use a small Logitech wireless, with stubby usb and highly recommend it.

-- Got XP because I needed it for some previous work, but have used Starter also. Don't think I'm missing much on a Netbook by not being in Windows 7. When I bought this one it was available in both XP or Starter, don't know if it still is or if it's now Starter only.

-- Processor is zippy, memory plenty for surfing and typical apps.

Probably forgot something, but hope that helps.

1Netbook Fail!  Dec 25, 2009 By Ray Holt
A computer that classifies itself as a so-called 'netbook' should clearly be able to do one thing exceptionally well... that is to get on the internet. The Lenovo s10-2 looks cool, but fails in the ability to bring an enjoyable internet browser experience to the end-user.

Within 5 feet of a router (tested with multiple routers) you may not receive full signal. When in the next room over you may expect to get a low signal and speeds around 5.5 Mbps.

While on the internet, page loads take forever and streaming videos is nearly impossible. Using an ethernet cable helps speeds things up, but what is the point of that? There are mobile devices that are quicker on the internet than this. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

1Biggest piece of crap  Oct 21, 2009 By R. Chen
Worst brand ever. I bought one recently from Amazon and so far I have not been able to connect via Wifi to my home network. I've tried everything and no one can help me. Lenovo sucks, don't ever buy their product. I basically wasted $300.
