this burner is the greatest burner i have had so far. burns whole cd's in 3 minutes, and whole dvd's in 7. the greatest product i've bought so far from Amazon.com

First of all, the drive would be recognized right away in Windows XP when plugged, so no need of driver (if any).
It has not worked in Windows Explorer. I meant you could not drag things to the drive because the drive appeared as a DVD-RAM drive. It worked fine with Nero Essential 7.
It made noise, but it burned fast a 4.7gb disc in about 9 minutes at a 8x speed. I have not tried its max speed yet.

I was sceptical about buying a burner less than $100 , but I bought this a long time ago and its still running strong. Never had a problem or "BAD" burn with it. I run it at 4x speed just to make sure, and put it back in the box whenever I am done using it so its been taken care of. I have burned 100's(no joke) of discs , dvd's and cdr's and dont see it giving me any problems even after 100's more. Worth buying for the cost. Definitely happy I bought it!!!!!

I love this burner, it burns and also has the lightscribe feature that burns labels on the front which works great for holidays or special occasions. You can burn your image on it if you like all you have to do is put your picture in the template program and you see it. Its not that loud and i would recommend it.
