....but other than the mem card not being included,,this recorder is an ace player and since i have SD cards lying around,I put a 4 gig in and I have 137 plus hours of rec time at HQLP mode..Mic pics up Very clear from a distance....
Unlike the 700D,
this one has no usb input,but you can just as easily remove the sd card and slip it into a cpu card reader if u need to save some files....
This plays MP3 music files too....
I really like the "set record time" feature..Set it to record at a later time without having to push a button when the event/conference starts..

is very good. I bought an SD card and just plug it into my computer with my universal USB/HC SD adaptor. It works great. It's very easy to transfer files.
I've dropped it couple of times and it's so lightweight that it didn't do any damage. If you need a portable, quick recording device for classes it's great, too because you can shift the sensitivity of the volume. I can get just as good a recording in class as I can at my drum lessons.

By Clint W. Dolenz I use this thing every day, well every night to be exact. I use it to record Coast to Coast AM, which is late-night talk-radio show. It is a great show. I strongly recommend checking it out. I record two hours every night. Under this schedule, a battery lasts a little longer than a week. This becomes expensive. I recently purchased C Crane's rechargeable batteries. Hopefully, this saves me $5.00 every two weeks. So, batteries are an issue if you use this thing as often as I do.
Playback: the volume is too low. You'd have to be screaming in it to use the lower 50% volume range. Fast forward and rewind are a bit clunky. It does it real slow then gradual moves in larger increments the longer it is in either mode. I'd rather have it where the user presses forward twice to double speed, triple to triple speed. Their way works too, though.
I wish the tracks would stay with their same name. Example, when deleting "7", track "8" becomes "7". This becomes confusing. I wish "8" was "8" no matter what. Then, I could say, "oh yeah, keep '8', it is an important recording". I have to play through track to remember what it is, because the file name changes.
I should have gotten the USB featured one. I'd feel more secure in having the recording. Since it is easy to delete the wrong track.
Recording: it's good, better than average, but not by much.
Overall, I am happy I have this product. I use it all the time and it's very helpful. The size is great. Quality feels like it will last longer than a year. And that's with it being in my pocket all day. So, pretty good.

By Tommy_A I use this device to record project information, dictate direction on how I want copy written and specific verbal instructions to our overseas web development teams... it is so easy to create mp3 files that I can attach to emails and get work done... I use it with and without a microphone and it works great either way... I have three other digital recorders that I have been using for years but now... no kidding, this recorder (and the mp3 recording capability) has changed my life... I'm going to purchase another in case something happens to this one...

By drparnell This is a very nice unit, easy to operate and records very clear. The only issue was the missing 1G card, I call the company that sent it and was given a $6 credit due to not being able to get 1G cards any more so the only issue I had with this unit was resolved with one phone call.
