Well worth it for the money. Apr 18, 2010

I did quite a bit of on-line research before purchasing this item. I am very pleased with the performance and usability of this product. Many reviews complain about the video resolution. Yes, it is low but very adequate for my purposes. Perhaps some day a higher res version will come out but expect the price the jump it bit.
Another complaint I heard about was about poor performance in low-light situations. I did not find this to be the case. As long as the 1.02 software update is loaded then it's very adequate as far as I'm concerned.
Naturally the sound is outstanding and I don't remember reading any reviews complaining about sound quality.
I've already used it to record some of my musician friends in performance and they have all been very pleased.
As the company states it's a lot of audio with a bit of video. If you are musician looking for a simple to use video camera with great sound to capture your gigs then I would highly recommend the Zoom Q3.

Zoom Q3 review Nov 03, 2010
By Bow Jockey This device does exactly what they say it will do. Easily records concerts, recitals, auditions for college, and the like. The video is a bit grainy especially under low light conditions or far away form subject and the zoom capability is weak at best. The audio however is very good even from afar and can be played back with or without headphones (useful). Personally I like the sound of the Zoom H2 audio recorder better - I recorded a concert side-by-side and made a comparison - but the Zoom Q3 records very cleanly and with a good XY mic setup (same as the H4 actually). My suggestion? Pony up for the Zoom Q3 HD version.

Inexpensive, simple to use and effective Nov 17, 2010
By tio jacaré I bought the Zoom Q3 for a specific application, namely, recording very loud drumlines of 300 people in Brazil. It has all the quality of the H4N without all the bells and whistles which I didn't need. Although audio is my main concern, the ability to video short segments is a nice feature. Super easy to use. Turn it on, push a button, point it at something. Unobtrusive. Highly portable. No need for external mics. Hard to beat it for the money.

Very impressed Sep 18, 2010
By Richard The audio quality and ease of use is very good. I plan on using a tripod and doing some outdoor music videos. The price is almost unbelievable as well. Handy and compact;yet it is high quality. Thank you to my brother, who bought this and had it shipped to me.

Used To Record Practice Session Sep 14, 2010
By Chauncy This recorded an acoustic guitar plugged into an amp and the singer's mic, plugged into the same amp - plus my unmiked 5 piece drum kit. It was amazing, I was using brushes and hot rod type sticks and not playing loud at times...man this thing picked up the cymbals, high hats, bass drum and snare - all of them sounded crisp. It also picked up the guitar and vocals. We were both impressed and the only issue was that it seemed like it was over-modulating and clipping the sound because the room was small and the sound had nowhere to go, no natural reverb or anywhere for it to dissipate.
