Quick, Inexpensive, Does the Job Apr 14, 2011
By Michael Bleigh I recently bought a projector to replace an aging 32" HDTV, but I needed a way to get the HDMI signal from my receiver to the projector across the room. I was worried from basic research I had done in the past that a wireless HD solution would either be awful or incredibly expensive, but I rolled the dice on this based on the overall positive reviews on Amazon. It works awesome!
Even though the target of the device seems to be for broadcasting from a laptop, I just hooked HDMI from my home theater receiver to the transmitter, then the brite-View receiver to the projector. It works flawlessly in 1080p with absolutely no noticeable lag. I know this because I play both first-person shooters and rhythm games, both of which require lag-free controller response and they've worked great. If you're looking at this product as a way to connect a distant video device with the rest of your setup, look no further. I can also attest that it doesn't cause any kind of wireless interference with an Xbox 360, Google TV, or PS3.

So I came across this after checking out the Imation Link wireless, so glad I did not order the Imation one. Brite-view is not only cheaper, it also stream 1080p where as the Imation Link only stream 720p and cost more than Brite-view. I also see that HP makes the same product, also more expensive and the thing is HUGE compare to this. Extremely easy setup. NO LAG whatsoever!!!!! Seriously if you want to stream 1080p video from your laptop to TV you have to get this. One negative is you must have HDMI on your laptop or else it won't work. But Brite-view does make another product without HDMI.

Wow! I'm Very Impressed!! Nov 23, 2010

I was thinking about getting a cheap net-top as a HTPC because I have no desire of building one, but then I came across brite-view's HDelight. Reading the specs, I realized I can just use my current laptop for the job. I have an Acer Aspire 5810TZ-4274 that I really like, and now that I can also use it as a HTPC is just awesome.
The HDelight comes in two pieces, besides all the other cables in the box - it contains a small transmitter (not even palm size) and a slightly larger receiver with the option of it being screwed to the back of the TV (screws are included but I didn't try them).
It comes with two HDMI cables - I like that. One short one for the transmitter + computer, and the other one for TV+ receiver.
The set up can not be easier - I literally just connected the small transmitter to my Acer laptop's HDMI port using the short HDMI cable and then to the Acer's USB port (there is a mini USB to USB cable in the package), and then I connected the receiver to the TV, gave it some juice from the power supply, waited for a few seconds while the transmitter's blue LED light blinks - and then I saw my computer's desktop on TV!
Played with Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, without any problems; great video and audio quality. Did not test Blu-ray because the Acer doesn't have a BD dirve. I was using the computer right in front of me when I'm in the living room, and the distance between the transmitter and receiver is about 10 ft apart.
BTW, the HDelight is using the same solution of Asus' wicast, but seriously, it costs $40 less!! The HDelight is a great deal.

Weak antenna design Apr 28, 2011
By arbrayton Bought this item to add TV in parents kitchen. If you flip the receiver unit to mount on the wall (screws and anchors in box), will drop signal, takes 45-60 secs to reconnect. Placed unit on shelf below TV, if unit is placed with front forward, with transmitter 15 ft away, and approx. left 20 degrees of center, will drop, but not as bad, reconnects in 20-30 seconds. If receiver unit is turned 90 degrees to left on shelf, will almost never drop, reconnects in 3-5 seconds. Poor antenna design, external antennas would definitely serve this product better. FYI: There is an hdmi splitter before the TV in the den. Beats climbing through the attic pulling cable.
